Drew enjoyed seeing Coach Spencer again. "I really like Coach Spencer a lot," said Drew. "We've made a bond with each other and he checks in on me sometimes just to see how I am doing and not to just talk football and recruiting." The two have formed a strong friendship.
Most of the visit today was on a personal level. "He asked our coaches how I was doing and how things in my life are going," said Ray. "It's refreshing to have a coach take that type of interest in you."
Coach Spencer also talked to the coaches about the possibility of future visits. "They invited him back and he is coming to my spring game and he talked to them about the summer camp at Georgia Tech which I'm going to attend."
Ray currently holds twenty three offers from some of the top programs in the country. Some of those schools are recruiting him harder than others. "I'd say Georgia Tech, Georgia, Clemson, Florida, and Tennessee are recruiting me the hardest right now."
Drew had previously stated that he would make his choice after his senior season and that is still the plan. "A lot of people say this is a four or five year decision but we are looking at this as a forty or fifty year decision as you never know if you will be an NFL player or not." Drew wants a good degree to fall back on and to carry him through life. "I want to make sure the decision I make is the right one." If he has to wait until the end of his senior season, he will do so in order to make the right decision.
