Hunter Mickelson Gets Two New Offers

Hunter Mickelson is a towering presence whether as center of the Arkansas state 4-A champions or on a talented AAU squad. The Class of 2011 standout has already attracted the eye of a number of colleges and most recently, Georgia Tech.

The Jonesboro, Arkansas center is has been busy following his junior season playing on the AAU circuit. "We did pretty well in a tournament in Little Rock." Mickelson led his high school team to a state title averaging nearly twenty points per game, ten plus rebounds, and four plus blocks. Those stats combined made for a standout year for Hunter.

That standout year has led to Hunter getting offers from some top programs. "Arkansas, Baylor, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Oklahoma State have offered." Georgia Tech and Minnesota are the latest to add their names to Hunter's growing list of offers.

Arkansas and Ole Miss have been the most active schools recruiting Mickelson. Hunter received an offer from Kentucky when Coach Billy Gillespie was there. "I haven't heard much since."

Mickelson values early playing time in choosing a school. "Academics are next and the quality of the basketball program is also important." Hunter may be making his decision at the end of the AAU season with the help of his parents. Top Stories
