The visits have coincided with the beginning of spring practice for Stephenson. "Today Ole Miss, Tennessee, Auburn, Clemson and Middle Tennessee were there and yesterday Georgia Tech, South Carolina, Florida State, Central Florida, and South Florida stopped by.
Georgia Tech was represented at his school by Coach Joe Speed. "Coach Speed, who is my recruiting coach, came by and told my coach that Georgia Tech is very high on me and says they want me to come and play college ball for them."
Coach Speed is new to the staff at Tech so he and Boyd are now building a relationship similar to the one he has with Coach Charles Kelly. "Coach Kelly and I go back all the way to my 9th grade year and we are still very close. Coach Speed and I are getting there and have formed a great relationship."
Those two aren't the only two connections Boyd has with the staff at Georgia Tech. "My dad played under Coach (Al) Groh at Wake Forest and he remembered him well."
Boyd has reported that he has ten offers thus far. "Off the top of my head the schools that have come by that have offered are Stanford, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, and Central Florida."
Jared is looking forward to his senior season. "We have two transfers from Hillgrove coming in and we have a great secondary." Boyd is looking forward to going out and proving he's the best in the state.
Boyd hopes to make his college choice by the time the season starts. "I really want to have that done so I can focus on my senior year and help my team be the best in the state." Boyd will be playing corner in college but will be playing safety to start the season.
Look for Jared to narrow his list of schools down in the near future.
