Josiah Turner Attending Camps, Playing AAU

The Oakland (CA) Soldiers have three of the best perimeter players in the Class of 2011. Josiah Turner, a 6-3, 185 pound point guard, is among the trio. Turner opened his recruitment after originally giving his verbal to Arizona State. Many schools are now after the Sacramento, California guard.

Josiah Turner has been on the road playing AAU ball and attending camps. Last weekend he attended the Pangos All-American Camp in Los Angeles. "There were a lot of good players there that I knew from AAU ball."

Josiah plays on the same AAU team has top ranked recruits Jabari Brown and Nick Johnson. "All of the players are from Oakland except me," said Turner. "It's a solid team."

Kansas and Wake Forest are two of the teams paying Turner a lot of attention. "Kansas is spending the most time with me. I've been there twice and also to Wake Forest."

Turner has double-digit offers from across the country. Marquette, Oregon, Santa Clara, Southern Methodist, USC, UCLA, California, Florida, and Arizona State are still after me." Josiah is also hearing from Georgia Tech. "I get monthly letters from them." He expects that an offer will be coming from Tech.

There are a few things that Turner has in mind when looking for a school. "I would like to have a good relationship with the coach and have them run an offense that fits my style. It doesn't matter where the school is located."

Turner will be looking for help in making that decision from his mom and his high school coach. "I hope to decide by the end of the summer."

In the meantime, Turner will continue to play with his AAU team." I've been invited to the LeBron (James) camp and will be going there." Top Stories
