David Rivers Making the Rounds

David Rivers, a rising senior at Little Rock's Hall High School, is making the rounds this summer. The 6-7, 180 lb. shooting guard/small forward is starting to attract a lot of attention from college coaches from Colorado to Providence.

David Rivers recently returned from the Nike EYBL tournament in Los Angeles playing on a team that included Ky Madden and Arkansas commit Hunter Mickelson. Although the team didn't fare as well as expected it was another chance for Rivers to gain more exposure.

With his recruitment starting to take off, Rivers is now up to ten offers. "Clemson and Missouri have really been after me lately but I still don't have anything from them." Rivers is also starting to hear from Georgia Tech. "I've gotten a few letters from them."

Rivers hasn't made any college visits yet but he has plans to take a few visits. "Next week I probably will be going to Missouri and Baylor, maybe, after that." Rivers is in no rush to make his decision. "I'm going to take my time."

What will be important to David in making his decision? "I'd say number one is the coaching staff and then it would be the ability to play early."

Rivers' dad played college ball at UALR (University of Arkansas-Little Rock). He'll be helping David with his decision along with his high school coaches.

There will be a lot to keep David busy this summer, Rivers will be busy attending camps and playing AAU ball. "I'm going to an Under-Armour Camp in Georgia and probably camps at Baylor and Missouri." David's AAU team will get back into action in early July.
