Stephon Tuitt Gets To Know the Staff Better

Stephon Tuitt spent his Saturday at Georgia Tech's Junior-Senior camp with one of his teammates. Stephon spent a lot of the time talking to the Georgia Tech coaches and getting to know them better. While he still has a while before deciding his college destination, he stated that Georgia Tech is a school he really likes.

Monroe Area defensive end Stephon Tuitt has visited Georgia Tech numerous times. Tuitt and one of his teammates made a return trip to Georgia Tech on Saturday for their Junior-Senior Camp.

Tuitt didn't take part in all of the drills but still got a lot out of the visit. "I used my time there to get to know the coaches better," said Stephon. "They already knew what I could do." Tuitt did the testing and weighed in at 6'6" – 259. "Basically this was an unofficial visit for me."

In addition to talking to Coach Paul Johnson, Tuitt spent some time with Coach Al Groh. "We talked about the NFL experience, his Super Bowl win, and his college coaching experiences." Groh told Tuitt that he felt he could get him to the next level. "I know with his track record you listen when he talks."

Stephon also spent some time with defensive line coach Andy McCollum. McCollum would be Tuitt's position coach if he chose Tech. "He has head coach experience too and that is one of the reasons I really like Georgia Tech," said Stephon. "Their staff is a great one."

Tuitt made the trip to Atlanta with his friend and 2012 recruit Darius Whitehead. "I thought he was one of the better players at the camp," said Tuitt. "He won a lot of the drills he participated in at the camp." The Tech staff took notice of Whitehead and liked what they saw.

The school that Tuitt selects will still have to wait until the fall for that decision. "I have a few schools that I am looking at right now and I will look them over and make a decision in the fall." Stephon doesn't have an exact date but he does know it will be in the fall. Top Stories
