Max Mason Camps at Tech

Max Mason, a teammate and friend of Georgia Tech commit Darren Waller, visited Georgia Tech for their Junior-Senior camp last weekend. Darren and Max are best friends and they enjoyed their time at Tech.

The national recruiting services refer to North Cobb high school's Max Mason as a gifted, lanky receiver. Do you think? The rising senior is 6-7, 205 pounds according to those who measured him at the Tech Elite Camp.

Mason and teammate Darren Waller attended the Georgia Tech Junior-Senior camp last Saturday and both enjoyed themselves. "We were there for about a half day and it was great." The campus location was appealing to Mason. "It's about thirty five minutes from home which is far enough away but not too far."

Having Waller there and getting an offer from Georgia Tech (Waller has since committed to Georgia Tech) also made it special. Max and Darren are best friends. "He spent the night at my house before the camp."

Mason performed well at the camp. "I was told they enjoyed having me there and that I did well and that they would like to have me."

Following the camp Mason, Waller and his high school's offensive team traveled to Troy, Alabama. "Our team is changing our offense and we spent three days at Troy learning their offense."

Mason currently has seven offers. "Marshall just offered me and I have offers from Air Force, Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana, Maryland and Troy." Kentucky has also been in touch with Mason.

Location will be a strong consideration for Max in choosing a school. "I'm also looking for someone who has a strong program in my major and a good football team and I know Tech has a lot of what I'm looking for."

Mason has a 3.3 GPA following his junior year. He's looking to make a decision at the end of his senior football season. He's looking for his coach to play a key role in his decision along with his parents. His coach feels Tech would be a good place for him to play football. Top Stories
