After completing his visit to Georgia Tech, Harris decided to end his recruitment. "I just committed to Georgia Tech today," said Harris. "I had a feeling that Georgia Tech was the place for me so I took drive to the campus and toured it one more time to make sure and I got a chance to see pretty much everything I wanted."
After finishing the tour, Harris knew that Georgia Tech was the place for him. "I told Coach Spencer and Coach Bohannon the news," said Harris. "Coach Johnson was on vacation so I left him a message on his voice mail to let him know the good news." Kyle is happy to have the decision behind him as it will allow him to concentrate on his senior season.
Both coaches let Harris know how happy they were with the decision. "They both said that I would make an excellent addition to the team and they told me they would try me at all three spots on the line to see which one is the best for me." Harris feels he can adapt to any position whether it be center, guard, or tackle.
The decision also went over well with his parents. "I know they are very happy for me and they will now have a chance to see me play every game with Atlanta being an easy drive for them." Harris chose Georgia Tech over schools from the ACC, Big 10 and Big East. "Right off the top of my head it was schools like Maryland, Purdue, Cincinnati, Louisville, and Syracuse and there are others but these are the ones that come to mind now."
Now that he's given his verbal to Georgia Tech, Harris hopes to get involved in getting other recruits to come to Georgia Tech. "I will talk up Georgia Tech to all the recruits I know that are considering Georgia Tech and try to have the best class we possibly can."
