Quincy McKinney Taking His Time

Columbus Carver offensive lineman Quincy McKinney has been busy this summer visiting schools across the southeast. McKinney has two more visits planned and is still open to all schools.

Quincy McKinney has done his best to visit as many schools as possible this summer. "I made visits across the southeast to see as many schools as I could at one time." Quincy has seen Mississippi State, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, and Clemson. "It was a long but productive trip."

One school that wasn't on his trip but is still very much in the picture is Georgia Tech. "They are most definitely still in the mix for me," said McKinney. "Coach (Charles) Kelly is my recruiting coach and I keep in contact." McKinney has no favorites at this time. "Georgia Tech is even with everyone else."

McKinney has two schools that he feels are recruiting him harder than the rest. "Duke and Michigan State are the two schools that are recruiting me very hard right now." McKinney hopes to make a trip to each school before heading back to school.

Quincy is planning on taking all five of his official visits before making a decision. "I believe that I will be taking my time and making my decision sometime after the season and before signing day." Right now he doesn't see himself making a decision any sooner than that.

Location will not be a factor in making his decision. "I'll go where it feels right for me and where I feel comfortable."

When he hasn't been taking a trip, Quincy has been busy working out and getting ready for the upcoming season. "We've been lifting weights, doing conditioning workouts, and position drills." He and his teammates will soon begin two a days as they prepare for the season opener against Spencer in August. He and his teammates feel confident that they can reach their goal of a state championship this season.
