Jonathan Battle is happy with the way things are going with his rehab. "It's going great and we've started practice and all the hard work rehabbing my knee has paid off." Now that he's been cleared for full contact, Battle is going to use the time to get his legs back to the condition they were in before the injury.
Americus-Sumter opens with a scrimmage on the 20th against Bainbridge and then they begin the season against Liberty on the 27th. "My coach has told me that I'll be good to go after the first game and he wants me to be ready with my knee and my conditioning," said Battle. "He is looking out for my best interests and I feel that is the best way to go."
With Battle beginning to make his way back from the knee injury, schools are now starting to give him attention. "I have offers from Arkansas and Louisville and I've been hearing a lot from Cincinnati." Michigan State, Tennessee, and Florida are other schools that are starting to recruit Battle. "The coaches at Georgia Tech have stayed in contact with me and I'm going to call them and update them on my condition and they want to see me in action as do the other schools." Georgia is also starting to show some interest. "It would be nice to get offers from the in-state schools."
While Battle has been receiving attention from a lot of schools, there has always been one school at the top of his list. "I like Georgia Tech; always have." Cincinnati is another school that has caught Battle's attention and he's also begun to take interest in Tennessee. "It would be great to get offers from all three schools as well as Georgia."
Battle is in no hurry to make a decision. "I feel I will wait as long as I can until all the offers I can, I want to choose from as many offers as possible." It's also possible if Battle gets that offer from a school that he likes the best he could end it at that time. "I think it is best to wait until all the schools that are going to offer have offered so I can make the best choice."
Jonathon has put in a lot of hard work rehabbing his knee. It was his goal to be fully ready when practice started for his senior year. He worked hard and met that goal. Now comes the part where he shows how much the hard work has paid off by the performance he puts out on the football field. There are a lot of schools eagerly waiting to see him in action before extending an offer.
