Profile 2004 - Lamar Lewis (CB/RB)

Lamar Lewis is one of the best running backs in the state of Florida this year, but he will likely play corner on the next level. At 5-9 and 180 pounds, Lewis is strong and compact, and he can absolutely fly.

At the Nike Camp in Miami last year, Lewis ran a 4.35 forty on grass as a sophomore. His speed helped him gain more than 1,800 yards and win the state title for Trinity Christian in Jacksonville, FL.

His speed will draw attention from all over the south, and so far, there is one school in the lead.

"I'm leaning to Georgia Tech right now," said Lewis. I also like Georgia, South Carolina, Miami, and Florida. They're all recruiting me to play corner. That's OK with me. I don't really mind where I play as long as I get to be on the field."

Lewis will likely get a shot to play more defense this year at Trinity if they hope to repeat as state champions.

"We return about five or six guys on offense, but we're losing pretty much everyone on defense."

Lewis is also a standout in the classroom, and he will have no trouble qualifying.
