4-star Juco DL sets UM visit

This Juco prospect says Miami recently offered and he has scheduled a visit there. Read on to see what he's saying about the Canes and more.

John Jenkins (6-4/340) committed to Oklahoma State early in the process but one school that has jumped into the mix recently is Miami.

"My thoughts is, I know a lot more now that I had an interview with the coach of Miami. As a child I always wanted to play for Miami. I know enough for me to want to take a visit."

Jenkins, from Mississippi Gulf Coast JC, talked about the conversation he recently had with Miami's new defensive line coach Jethro Franklin.

"I talked to Coach Franklin. We talked about football and then started to talk about life and everything else."

Miami came through with an offer recently and they'll receive a visit on January 14.

"Yeah they offered. I am going to be taking my official visit so I am considering them. My official is next weekend."

Jenkins says he's done some research already on new coach Al Golden.

"From his resume and what people are telling me and the stuff I have been reading up on him, he seems alright. He seems like a real quality coach. But that goes for everybody in that league, college football."

So what's the status of the defensive tackle's commitment right now?

"I am considering everyone on the table. I don't have a top three, I am wide open. I like Miami though."

Jenkins also plans to visit Ole Miss and Georgia later this month. He's already been to see Oklahoma State.
