Djurisic to SEC

The Georgia Bulldogs landed their fourth hoops commitment in the 2011 class on Sunday evening.

The Georgia Bulldogs suffered a season ending defeat this week in the NCAA Tournament at the hands of Washington, but it wasn't all bad for Mark Fox and his staff. The Bulldogs were able to reel in a class of 2011 commitment.

At 6-foot-8 and 230 pounds Nemanja Djurisic was one of the better available big guys in the 2011 class. He is now no longer on that last according to South Kent Head Coach Kelvin Jefferson as Djurisic is off the board to Georgia.

"He really liked the location," said Jefferson. "I think he was tired of this New England weather. Also he had a chance to go down there and compete right away for playing time on a good team."

Jefferson continued, "Georgia had a real good year this year, so that situation combined with playing time was something that really appealed to Nemanja."

Djurisic selected the Bulldogs over offers from Arizona State, Kansas State, and East Carolina. He had also considered Utah and NC State before those two schools decided to part with their head coaches.

By committing to Georgia, Djurisic joins Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Tim Dixon, and John Florveus in their 2011 recruiting class.
