Hunt Picks Up UGA Offer

The past week has seen the rise of Marcus Hunt's stock on the recruiting scene.

Already with a handful of offers entering April, numerous schools stepped forth this past week in pursuit of the shooting guard from North Clayton.

Georgia and Tennessee were the latest to offer, both extending a scholarship Tuesday.

"(Georgia assistant Philip) Pearson came and saw me, and he offered me," Hunt, 6-foot-5, 215-pounds, said. "Tennessee's head coach (Cuonzo Martin) also came and offered."

"It's been a pretty good week," Hunt said. "I was just waiting to see what happened. It makes me feel that my hard work is paying off."

Georgia Tech, UMass, Alabama and Richmond have also offered this spring.

For now, Hunt is travelling and playing with his AAU team, the Georgia Stars, and says he is in no hurry to make a decision.

"I don't really have any favorites right now," he said. "I'm looking into every program that has offered, and I'm looking at schools where I can get a good education and has a great overall program."

Hunt has been steadily gaining recognition since last fall, including one 47-point game last season.
