Profile 2004 - Lamar Myles (LB)
Lamar Myles has physical attributes that are off the charts. Myles plays linebacker and fullback for Lake Region High School in Eagle Lake, FL as well as competes in track and weightlifting. He finished 2nd in the state as a sophomore last spring in the weightlifting championships, and if his self reported strength numbers are accurate, he should be a shoe-in to finish first this season.
"I bench right at 450," said Myles. "I can squat 500 and clean 380. We have a weightlifting meet this weekend."
Myles' also runs the 4x100, 200, and throws the disc and shot for the track team. His top 100 meter time is 10.6. At 6-0 and 196 pounds, he possesses an unbelievable combination of strength and speed. It's no wonder why schools across the south are after him.
"I've gotten offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. Auburn is probably my favorite right now. Miami is probably the 5th team that I'm looking at, but they haven't offered yet."
Myles had 125 tackles from his middle linebacker spot, and it's not surprising that he would claim quickness as one of his biggest assets.
"Speed is probably my biggest strength right now, but I want to work on my footwork and agility even more this spring and summer."
Lake Region went 7-3 last season, and Myles will make them a very dangerous team again this season.
