South Region: Commitment Rewind

Over a dozen prospects out of the South announced their decision over the past week and Scout takes a look at those right here.

Monday June 6

Quadry Antoine - 5-11/210 - Safety - Belle Chasse, La.-Belle Chasse
Committed to: Mississippi State
Quick Hitter: Antoine lines up well off the ball at safety, but do not let that fool you. He is someone who wants to be involved in the action and he is an extremely physical player. He is a well built athlete who loves contact and he could be lining up inside the box in Starkville.

Tuesday June 7

Pat Gamble - 6-5/275 - Defensive Tackle - Carrollton, Ga.-Central
Committed to: Georgia Tech
Quick Hitter: Gamble is a lineman with good size and versatility. He will start out as a defensive end at Georgia Tech, but could play some defensive tackle, or be good as an offensive lineman in their triple-option offense as well.

Wednesday June 8

Davante' Bourque - 6-0/185 - Wide Receiver - Crowley La.-Crowley
Committed to: LSU
Quick Hitter: Bourque is an athlete that has potential to play on either side of the ball at LSU. He has played more running back than anything else in high school, but he will play wide receiver or safety on the next level. He changes direction well and he has good speed.

Cordrea Tankersley - 6-2/185 - Wide Receiver - Aiken, S.C.-Silver Bluff
Committed to: Clemson
Quick Hitter: Tankersley is an athlete with good top end speed, good length, and another athlete that could play safety or wide receiver in college. He is rated as a wide receiver by Scout, but Clemson will likely start Tankersley out at safety.

Thursday June 9

Ronald Geohagahn - 6-2/190 - Safety - Allendale, S.C.-Allendale-Fairfax
Committed to: Clemson
Quick Hitter: Geohaghan is a smart safety with very good instincts. He will likely develop into a leader for the Tiger secondary. He covers a lot of ground, he plays smart, and he has good size.

Jaylen Walton - 5-9/175 - Running Back - Memphis, Tn.-Ridgeway
Committed to: Ole Miss
Quick Hitter: Walton is more of a scat-back with quick feet and nice lateral movement. He has shown good speed in the 40 yard dash this summer and he is a back that could be used as a receiver out of the backfield at Ole Miss.

Friday June 10

Joshua Parris - 6-3/225 - Tight End - Stone Mountain, Ga.-Stephenson
Committed to: Syracuse
Quick Hitter: Parris is a tight end, but could also be used as a fullback or h-back on the next level. He is a strong blocker at the point of attack and he is a prospect that will continue to get bigger and stronger.

Travis Blanks - 6-1/194 - Safety - Tallahassee, Fla.-North Florida Christian
Committed to: Clemson
Quick Hitter: Blanks committed to Clemson one day after camping for three days in Death Valley. He is a defensive back with great size, the ability to cover one on one, and very strong hands in the secondary.

Ricky Parks - 6-4/231 - Tight End - Hoganville, Ga.-Callaway
Committed to: Auburn
Quick Hitter: Parks is a top five prospect in the state of Georgia and he will go to Auburn to be used as a big receiver, tight end, and h-back. He will create a lot of mismatches, he will be able to get vertical, and he could be used in the 'Wildcat' package as well.

Quayvon Hicks - 6-2/248 - Fullback - Blackshear, Ga.-Pierce County
Committed to: Georgia
Quick Hitter: Hicks is a prospect that was recruited by some to play defensive end and he could still play there at Georgia, but he will likely start out as a fullback. He is a very athletic, he is well put together, and he is very strong. He is like a wildcard that could help UGA in a number of areas.

Sunday June 12

Vernon Davis - 5-10/170 - Cornerback - Coral Reef, Fla.-Coral Reef
Committed to: Miami
Quick Hitter: Davis is a corner that has continued to emerge as one of the best at his position in Florida. He has good cover skills, he likes to play physical, and he is someone that has good potential.

Dwayne Hoilett - 6-4/227 - Defensive End - Vero Beach, Fla.-Vero Beach
Committed to: Miami
Quick Hitter: Hoilett has a lot of upside at defensive end. He is a young man that works hard and he has yet to scrape the surface of his potential. He will likely grow into a 6-4/255 defensive end that will attack the quarterback off the edge at UM.

Jonathan Taylor - 6-4/318 - Defensive Tackle - Millen, Ga.-Jenkins County
Committed to: Georgia
Quick Hitter: Taylor is a highly rated defensive tackle with a very high ceiling. He is a very powerful tackle with good explosiveness. He is still extremely raw, but has the size, ability, and potential to be an All-SEC guy at Georgia.

James Deloach - 6-2/259 - Defensive End - Millen, Ga.-Jenkins County
Committed to: Georgia
Quick Hitter: Deloach is a good football player that could play with his hand down or standing up in Athens. He broke his arm early in the 2010 season, so he looks to have a big senior campaign. He is tough, he plays hard, and he is a football player.
