Big News for Top Dawg Recruit

Leonard Pope's arrival in Athens was delayed a year. Is the wait over for this 5 Star Recruit?

Leonard Pope was one of the top players to sign with Georgia in the Class of 2002. Pope had to wait a year before making his official arrival on campus because of academic reasons, but he will have to wait no longer.

"I got my score back about two weeks ago," said Pope. "I'm fully qualified now, and I'm looking forward to getting to Athens. I'm finished here at Hargrave around the 31st of this month, and I'll be heading to Georgia this August. I've been working out and going to class all spring, and I'm up to 255 pounds right now."

With Ben Watson returning for his senior year, Pope will have the luxury of being eased into the system. He has all of the talent to make a huge impact on the field when he gets his chance.

It took him an extra year to get to Athens, but for Pope, coaches, and fans alike, it will be worth the wait.
