Abbott stands 6-9 and 330 pounds, when I mentioned to him that he sounds like Shaquille O'Neal, he said, "That's my nickname 'Shaq'". Abbott has good quickness for a man of his size; he runs the forty in the 5.3/5.4 range, and he can attribute some of his quickness to his playing basketball.
Abbott is receiving attention from schools across the country, and several have already stepped up and made him a scholarship offer.
"I've gotten offers from Georgia, Virginia, Louisville, and Maryland so far," said Abbott. "I haven't decided which team camps I am going to this summer. My favorite teams right now are Miami, Georgia, Ohio State, LSU, Virginia, and Michigan. I'm pretty much wide open among those schools right now."
Abbott is hoping to make it to the Nike Camp in Auburn this weekend, but he's having a problem with footwear. "My cleats gave out this year," laughed Abbott. "I have a size 18 shoe and it's hard for me to find new cleats."
Abbot and Brown are two bookend offensive tackle prospects that are going to be two of the most heavily recruited prospects in the state of Georgia this year. Westlake will be lining up nearly 600 pounds of man on the tackle spots, and they will be a team to look out for this year.
