ATHENS – Cornelius Washington has been suspended at least two games by Mark Richt after being arrested on DUI charges Sunday morning.
Washington, who started and had two sacks in Georgia
's 24-10 win over Mississippi State
Saturday, was arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI in Jackson County and released on a $3,500 bond after being picked up driving 92 miles an hour in a 55 mile-per-hour zone.
"Our policy on a DUI is minimum of a 20% suspension. It will be at least that," Richt said.
Richt indicated that the 20% suspension policy translates to at least two games.
"Cornelius is sick. He feels awful. He knows he let the team, coaches and his family down. He understands that there is a price to pay for it," Richt said.
