Early Top Five for Joshua Outlaw

While it is still early in the recruiting process, class of 2013 offensive lineman Joshua Outlaw has already begun receiving major interest from some of the top programs in the southeast. Eastern Kentucky and South Carolina have offered the 6-foot-4, 280 pound junior out of Lithonia (GA) M.L.K., and he is garnering major attention from many of the traditional powers in the SEC and ACC.

"Right now, I am receiving interest from Georgia Tech, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss, Cincinnati, Miami, Florida State and Clemson, in addition to my two offers," Joshua Outlaw told GoJackets.com.

Although Outlaw has only visited one school thus far, he has already started the process of narrowing down his list of favorites.

"My top five favorites are Miami, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Florida."

One of the schools in Outlaw's top five is the lucky program that has received his only unofficial visit.

"I took a trip to Georgia Tech to watch them play UNC. That game was one of the greatest experiences because the fans were so wild. The fans were great and the atmosphere felt like home."

Outlaw currently plays in an offense that is very pass-heavy, but does not believe that would hinder his ability to be successful in Georgia Tech's offense should he choose to play his college ball in Atlanta.

"I don't think it would be a tough transition because I'm very athletic and it allows me to do things that most tackles can't do."

Outlaw does not currently have any additional visits planned at the current time, but will make an effort to get around to some of the schools on his list during the offseason.

Colleges are interested in Outlaw's physicality and athleticism, but what is the young man looking for in a school?

"The biggest factors will be how far it is away from home and the school's win-loss record. Early playing time will also be a big factor. Other than that, it will come down to the atmosphere and how I feel when I am there."
