SEC Championship Week Arrives

ATHENS - Dawg Post fills you in on all you need to know about the week leading up to the game.

WHAT:: 2011 SEC Championship
WHERE: The Georgia Dome
WHEN: Saturday 4 PM, EST
WHO: Georgia vs. LSU

Last time out: #4 LSU beat Georgia 20-13 after a controversial excessive celebration foul called on A.J. Green with a two-play, 16-second drive resulting in a Charles Scott Touchdown on October 3, 2009.

Last time in an SEC Championship Game: #13 Georgia beat #3 LSU 34-13. Georgia dominated the Tigers 34-14 in front of 73,717 fans in the Georgia Dome to capture the school's 12th conference title.

THIS WEEK:

SUNDAY
Georgia head coach Mark Richt will meet with reporters over the phone during the SEC's championship teleconference from 5:00-5:30 PM. LSU head coach Les Miles will meet with reporters over the phone during the SEC's championship teleconference from 5:30-6:00 PM.

At or just after 6 PM Las Vegas betting lines will be out for the game. It is expected that the Tigers will be at least a ten-point favorite over the Bulldogs... some think the line will be as big as 17 points...

The Bulldogs opened up as a ten-point underdog at 4:30 PM on Sunday.

BCS standings will be revealed at 8 PM. It is expected that the Tigers will remain #1 in the standings.

MONDAY:
Aaron Murray, Brandon Boykin and Jarvis Jones will meet with the media via teleconference at 1 PM. LSU's Brandon Taylor, Morris Claiborne and Will Blackwell players will follow the Bulldogs on the call.

LSU coach Les Miles and the Tigers will meet with the media at 1:15 PM on Monday.

Georgia returns to practice in the evening. The Bulldogs typically hold a closed practice on Monday to work on conditioning.

TUESDAY:
At noon Georgia will have its regularly-scheduled weekly press conference. Mark Richt's portion of the event will be broadcast by 680 AM in Atlanta.

The Bulldogs will practice in the afternoon after classes are complete. This is typically a full pads practice for the Bulldogs.

WEDNESDAY
At 12:20 PM Mark Richt will meet with members of the media via teleconference to discuss the SEC Championship Game.

The Bulldogs will practice in the afternoon. Wednesday practices can vairy for the Bulldogs in terms of full pads or not.

Richt will meet with Athens-based beat media as is typical for Wednesdays during the season.

THURSDAY
The Bulldogs typically practice at Sanford Stadium with noise pumped into the stadium to simulate game-like conditions as much as possible.

Richt and players are not made available to the media on Thursday.

FRIDAY
At noon the Regions Bank Coaches Luncheon kicks off the Friday festivities around the Georgia Dome.

Following the luncheon, Mark Richt and Les Miles will meet with the media separately and also take a picture with the 2011 SEC Trophy together.

From 3-4:30 PM, the Bulldogs will practice at the Georgia Dome. LSU will follow Georgia - practicing from 4:30-6 PM.

SATURDAY
The popular college football show "College Gameday" will air live from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

The 2011 SEC Championship Game kicks off at 4 PM on CBS.
