Is New Jersey's Daniel Davis considering Dawgs?

Other schools have offered the New Jersey star. Is Georgia in the mix for this Linebacker / defensive end prospect?

"I play several positions," said Plainfield, New Jersey's Daniel Davis. The 6-2 250 Linebacker / defensive end also plays tight end and fullback. But as you could imagine, he is being recruited as a defensive end or linebacker.

Georgia has not offered Davis yet but other schools have. Rutgers, Virginia, and Nebraska have all offered the prospect.

"I took an unofficial visit to Virginia," he said. "But it was snowy and therefore unorganized. We are rescheduling the trip for soon."

Davis said that he will camp at Virginia as well as Rutgers this summer. He added that he is looking to camp at one or two more schools but that he is not sure yet where.

Davis brings "leadership and aggression" to the field when he plays. He said that football is "mostly mental." He added: "you always have to stay mentally ready. I think that football is 80% mental and 20% physical. You have to think and use common sense," he said.

"I want a chance to play early," said Davis. He also added that distance from his home in New Jersey will factor into his decision. That could mean that he and the Dawgs are not a match.

"Nebraska offered me at the (Virginia Tech) Nike camp but I have to consider the location. I don't know if I want to be that far away from home." Right now its does not look like Georgia and Davis are going to mutually interested in one another.
