Georgia is, however, interested in Hart County's Jae Thaxton. At 6-2 220 Thaxton could fit in well at the middle linebacker spot for most schools. In fact, several new schools have offered him recently.
"I spoke with Coach VanGorder from Georgia yesterday," Thaxton said. "He just wanted to keep in touch. He asked how my spring had gone. I am considering Georgia very strongly. But I am keeping my options open right now. They are among my favorites."
"I love playing football; I have a good nose for the ball," said Thaxton.
Thaxton said that he did not yet know what it would take for him to sign with a school. But that it should just feel right. "It just depends on how the school is and how well I like it," he said.
Thaxton has visited Athens and Tallahassee before and plans to return to the Classic City. In fact he could camp at Georgia in the summer. "I am planning on camping at Georgia this summer but I am not certain about that yet. I am not sure about the other camps either," he added.
"I would like to play inside linebacker in college," Thaxton said. "It is just easier to for me to cover the field from there."
Thaxton said that all of the attention that he is getting from around the south is very flattering. "I appreciate the interest that all of these schools have in me. I try to stay humble about it. I am going to stay levelheaded," he said.
