Announcements to Make

ATHENS - Georgia has called a press conference for 3 p.m.

While exactly which players will be meeting with the media in Butts-Mehre is unknown, Dawg Post has confirmed a few who will be in attendance.

Backup quarterback Hutson Mason will make known his intentions to either remain at Georgia or to transfer.

The rising junior was 18 of 30 for 254 yards and two touchdowns in 2011. Mason is in the same class as starter Aaron Murray and wants the chance to start someday. If Mason stays, he could redshirt in 2012 to provide class separation and a chance to one day take over the starting position.

Defensive back Sanders Commings will also be on hand. Commings has yet to announce if he's staying in school or turning pro.

Commings made 48 tackles and one interception in 2011. His 6-2, 217-pound frame and versatility (played both corner and safety) are pluses in terms of playing at the next level.

Also expected on hand: Safeties Bacarri Rambo and Shawn Williams. Both announced earlier this week intentions to remain to school, creating perhaps the best returning safety tandem in the SEC.

Coach Mark Richt will also be at the press conference.
