Official Visitor Update

It looks like three prospects will be visiting Georgia officially this weekend and one of those quietly had a big senior season.

Georgia commitment Collin Barber, a punter out of Cartersville, Ga. will take his official visit this weekend and a couple others will join him.

One is Sam Jowers, a versatile lineman out of Atlanta, Ga. - Westminster. The 6-foot-3, 268 pound lineman has been offered as a preferred walk-on. Georgetown and North Carolina (preferred walk-on) are two other options he is considering.

The final one is a new name to most. It is Davante Lambert, a 6-foot-3, 255 pound defensive end out of Waynesboro, Ga. - Burke County. He is headed for Junior College, but UGA has been on him hard of late.

"Georgia has really come on here lately," Burke County Head Coach Eric Parker told Scout. "Everyone knew early on that he was going to have to be a JUCO kid, but Georgia, LSU, and Troy have popped in here recently.

"Davante leaves today to visit Georgia, so Georgia may be interested in placing him if they can. That is still up in the air because I am not sure if Davante wants to go that route or not."

Right now, three Junior College programs are coming after Lambert.

"Georgia Military, Hutchinson Community College, and Garden City are the main ones he is considering right now. If he had the courses he needed, he would have been an ACC/SEC recruit, there is no doubt about that. He has a lot of potential."

All three prospects will visit from Friday through Sunday.
