Kublanow Stops in for Junior Day

A top in-state 2013 offensive line prospect traveled to Athens for junior day this weekend.

Walton High's Brandon Kublanow has visited Georgia several times for both camps and games. He took another trip to Athens Saturday.

"I got to talk to the coaches a lot," he said. "Usually I don't have a lot of time to talk to the coaches. I talked to coach (Will) Friend, coach (Mike) Bobo and talked to coach (Mark) Richt some, too."

A 6-3, 282-pound offensive guard, Kublanow has developed a strong bond with Friend, who was hired in February of 2011.

"I think our relationship is pretty strong," Kublanow said. "I think he's a cool guy and pretty easy going. I think he knows when it's time to work though."

Georgia is solidly on the Marietta prospect's list of top schools. He currently holds offers from the Bulldogs, Clemson and others.

"Georgia is a strong program, and it's really stable," he said. "They've got a lot of stability. I think they're going to be really good next year."

Kublanow visited Auburn Jan. 23 and plans to camp at Alabama and Clemson. He would like to travel to South Carolina, Vanderbilt and others, too, he said.

With signing day less than a week away for the 2012 class, a realization has hit Kublanow. He says he understands the recruiting attention will only increase in the coming months.

"I'm ready," he said. "It's kind of weird to know that now is the time."
