Abbott is a product from Atlanta's Westlake High School. He along with his teammate Michael Brown are big on Georgia's list of big men.

"Things are going great with Georgia," said huge prospect Cortney Abbott. Abbott is a product from Atlanta's Westlake High School. He along with his teammate Michael Brown are big on Georgia's list of big men.

According to Abbott, Georgia has got competition to get his services. Abbott has offers from the following schools: Georgia, LSU, Clemson, Virginia, North Carolina, Auburn, Indiana, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Florida, Michigan, and Georgia Tech.

And although his laundry list of offers is impressive, Abbott said "My top five are: Michigan, Cincinnati, Clemson, Georgia, and Virginia, in no order."

One factor for Abbott will be his future after football. He said that he has a specific major in mind already. "I want to major in sports law," he said.

The location of the school that he will choose is also important. He said that it is important for his family watch him play live. "My family must be at all of my games," he said. "I am family man." He went on to add that the passion of the fans at the school that he will choose is also important. "The school fans must be into the team," he said.

Another huge factor in the recruiting war for Abbott is where his teammate and good friend Brown will play.

"Michael Brown and I are very close and we are trying to go to the same school," he said. But the proposed package deal was not always in the making. According to Abbott, the two were at one time rivals. "We didn't like each other for a long time," he said noting that the two would compete fiercely with one another when they were younger.

"I could go by myself to a school," Abbott admitted, "but the transition would be easier with Michael."

Georgia Head Coach Mark Richt offered Abbott on behalf the Dawgs. The big man said: "He said that if I work very hard I could come in and play right away. But only if I work my tail off."
