North/South Battle for All-South RB

Georgia will figure prominently in keeping 1st Team All-South running back Markus Manson in the south.

Markus Manson of Hillcrest High School in Tuscaloosa, AL is going to be listed as a 1st team All-South running back by at the end of the month, but there is a big question as to whether or not he even ends up in the south. Max Martin, another top Alabama running back, has already made a commitment to Michigan, and Manson is giving some northern schools a good look too.

"Michigan State just offered me a scholarship," said Manson. "LSU and Notre Dame look to be close. My mom and my aunt are from Michigan, but the rest of my family is here in the south. I'm getting my schools narrowed down some, but it's still getting harder and harder to get close to making a decision. I know if I stay in the south it will be Auburn or Georgia."

When asked if the hometown Crimson Tide would factor into his decision, Manson's mind seemed to be made up already.

"I'm not going to Alabama. I want to get away from home a little bit."

Alabama will get a chance to change his mind in the very near future as Manson will be making the short trip to Tuscaloosa on Saturday for a senior camp.
