Thursday Practice Tidbits

ATHENS - Tidbits from Georgia's sixth spring practice.

>>>Yes Bacarri Rambo and Alec Ogletree were still practicing with the first-team defense during the open period of practice today.

I got a glimpse of the entire first-team and second-team defensive units in the nickel. Not really any surprises:

First team (Note: I didn't see John Jenkins at practice):

DL: Kwame Geathers, Abry Jones, Cornelius Washington
LB: Alec Ogletree, Mike Gilliard, Jarvis Jones
CB: Damian Swann, Branden Smith, Sanders Commings
S: Bacarri Rambo, Shawn Williams

Second team:

DL: Garrison Smith, Derrick Lott, Ray Drew
LB: Christian Robinson, Ramik Wilson, T.J. Stripling
CB: Malcolm Mitchell, Devin Bowman, Blake Sailors
S: Corey Moore, Connor Norman

So there you go. Obviously the suspensions will play a role in these units shifting. Keep in mind that the units were in the nickel.

>>> I watched the quarterbacks work on footwork in cone drills – specially sliding in the pocket, evading the rush and still making a throw. This is something coach Mike Bobo has been on Aaron Murray about getting more comfortable with. Instead of feeling the pressure and tucking the ball and running the majority of the time, Bobo wants Murray to get better moving in the pocket and still making a throw.

>>> The offensive line continues to be a free for all. I saw Dallas Lee and David Andrews working at first-team center. Also Watts Dantzler and Austin Long were switching at first-team right tackle. Kolton Houston and Mark Beard were switching at left guard. Coach Will Friend is giving everybody an equal opportunity this spring.
