ATHENS, Ga. -- University of Georgia junior Corrie Drakulich was named to the 2003 Verizon Academic All-America University Division Women's Cross Country/Track and Field First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Drakulich, from Portland, Ore., earned Academic All-America honors for the second year in a row. She was named to the Verizon Academic All-America Third Team last year. She competes in the pole vault on the UGA track and field team and holds a 4.0 grade point average while double-majoring in Genetics and Religion.
Drakulich was an NCAA regional qualifier this season in the pole vault. She is a Foundation Fellow recipient, the highest academic scholarship at Georgia. Drakulich was also named to the 2003 SEC Academic Honor Roll, 2003 SEC At-Large Sports Good Works Team and was inducted into the UGA chapter of the Blue Key National Honor Society this year.
