Alabama makes strong first impression
"I loved every bit of it," Nick Glass said of his trip to Tuscaloosa. "It was my first trip there. The way the coaches made it seem like they really wanted me. I always had two-three coaches around me.
"It was great going through 'Championship Hallway' with the Heisman Trophy and championships. Sitting in meetings with coach Saban and coach Pruitt really stood out to me."
Alabama did not offer Glass a scholarship on this trip.
"I talked to coach Saban a few times," he said. "It was all really short. We are going to sit down and talk more on A-Day. I am definitely going back for it.
Glass is comfortable with the Tide's staff and players in Tuscaloosa.
"The coaches are great," he said. "They all get along well. They know how to get the best out of their players. They obviously know what they are doing by winning national championships."
"I like the camaraderie between the players. The weight lifting coach was yelling at everyone. I liked that. I look forward to whatever else Alabama has to bring. I know they bring a lot to the table."
Glass also talked about practice and the players who stood out during the scrimmage.
"How fluid the DBs were is what really impressed me," he said. "If they weren't trying to lay out anyone they were going after the ball and getting interceptions. They looked fast and quick.
"The huge offensive line really stood out to me. The JuCo cornerback [Deion Belue] who had a pick six stood out. Coach Sal's son [Vinnie Sunseri] really stood out to me."
Former teammate and close friend, Geno Smith, signed with Alabama this past February.
"Geno talks to me every day about Alabama," Glass said. "We really talk about Alabama a lot. I could see myself playing with him."
Glass has 17 offers with the latest coming from Georgia. He plans to visit Georgia or Georgia Tech this weekend. He'll return to Alabama April 14.
"I feel blessed, and it makes me want to push myself to the next limit," Glass said. "I will try to work harder than everyone and help lead my team to state championship."
