Green Picks Georgia

ATHENS – Brice Ramsey has a high school teammate joining him in silver britches.

Camden County athlete J.J. Green has committed to Georgia. He texted the news to Fox Sports Next's Chad Simmons Monday afternoon.

The commitment gives Georgia 14 commitments for the class of 2013 – tied with Florida for the most in the SEC at this time. It is also Georgia's second commitment of the day – South Gwinnett linebacker Reggie Carter picked the Bulldogs as well. Green is Georgia's sixth overall commitment in the last five days.

Green is the second player to commit to the Bulldogs from powerhouse high school program Camden County. Four-star quarterback Brice Ramsey was happy about the news.

"It's really great because we've been playing together since rec ball," Ramsey said. "We've always said that we wanted to get to play together in college, and now we will."

Simmons said Green will be well used on the college level.

"Green is an exceptional athlete," Simmons said. "He will likely be utilized all over the field on the next level. He made plays in the secondary, out of the backfield and on special teams as a junior at Camden County."

Green will likely be considered a three-star prospect later this year. He was featured as a running back, but made most of his game-breaking plays as a return man for the Wildcats. He is also a cornerback for Camden County.
