Tuesday Practice Tidbits

ATHENS - Tidbits from Georgia's spring practice on Tuesday.

>>> The wind was something fierce during Georgia's practice on Tuesday. One member of our fine media contingent asked if the wind was swirling or gusting. Another responded the swirling was due to the residual effect of straight winds curling around buildings.

I don't really know what any of that means. The wind was blowing hard. I give the videographers up in the lifts credit – they hung in there despite the conditions. Richt was watching those lifts closely and asked them to be lowered down at one point.

>>> When we first got out to practice one of the back-up, back-up, back-up walk-on quarterbacks hit a high school coach standing on the sideline next to Chappie (Richt's brother-in-law). Mike Bobo screamed out, "You hit the wrong guy." That was a humorous moment.

>>> Thomas Davis was watching practice. It's always nice to see a no-brainer for the Top 10 List of Best Players During the Richt Era hanging around the practice field. Davis is in town for a speaking engagement of some sort.

>>> As for some useful tidbits about the actual team: Keith Marshall (hamstring), Richard Samuel (concussion), Zach DeBell (ankle) weren't practicing. I didn't see Tavarres King out there during the open period. Amarlo Herrera (stinger) was still in green, as was Xzavier Ward (knee). Ward was working by himself doing light drill-work (footwork, hand placement). Bacarri Rambo (hamstring) was back out there.

We'll update more after practice…
