Mauger Makes His Move

ATHENS - Georgia picked up a commitment before Dawg Night even began Friday.

Quincy Mauger committed to Georgia only a few hours before his return to Sanford Stadium for Dawg Night.

The 6-foot, 199-pound defensive back from Marietta, Georgia, was offered by Coach Mark Richt following his great showing at the camp in early June. Maguer is now the 20th member of the 2013 class.

"I committed to the coaches because they have a great connection with their players," Mauger said. "They also have an engineering program for me, and I feel good playing for the in-state school.

"I did not come here planning to commit. It was just a spur of the moment decision after talking to the coaches. I am 100 percent committed, but I will still visit Central Florida this month."

Mauger's Kell High teammate Brendan Langley is one of the best defensive backs in the country.

"I'm going to work on Brendan to come here to Georgia," Mauger said.
