Georgia became the 13th school to offer a scholarship to one of the top juniors in the south on Wednesday. Get the latest here.

"I talked to the running backs coach (Bryan McClendon) from Georgia today and he offered me a scholarship," Jalen Hurd told Scout. "I had seen some letters from Georgia, but the offer was kind of a surprise to me."

The offer from the Dawgs is offer 13 for this 6-foot-3, 210 pound running back out Hendersonville (Tn.) Beech.

He has not visited Athens before and he does know a lot about UGA yet, but he knows one thing and he wants to know more.

"I know that they recruit top running backs and they like the big and explosive backs.

"I will definitely give them a look now that they have offered. I am not sure if I am ready to put them into my top five (Alabama, Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Michigan, and Ole Miss), but it is a possibility later on."

Hurd has played three games so far in 2012 and he has run for over 900 yards and scored 10 touchdowns.

Chad Simmons is currently a National Recruiting Analyst for FOX Sports/Scout. He started with Scout in 2003 and then moved on to another Recruiting Service from 2004-2008 before returning to Scout the first of 2009 to become South Recruiting Manager.
