Quick Hitter: McNeil to take three officials

Alabama commit Josh McNeil has been doing well at Milford Academy through a few weeks, but he will set out time on three official visits in between games this fall.

Josh McNeil committed to Alabama over the summer and has been promoting the reigning National Champions ever since using social media sites and with fellow pledges. He remains solid on his commitment to the Crimson Tide, but that doesn't mean he won't make sure with official visits elsewhere.

"I think my three officials will be 'Bama, LSU and Florida," he sent via text message Friday morning. "(They're) not set up yet."

McNeil's mentor suggested the notion, and it's something he has hinted at all along. Mom also likes the move.

"For experience," McNeil said as to why he's taking the trips. "My parents want me to take the trips to compare (to UA) and make sure I'm making the right decision."

The Gators and Tigers have remained as schools in touch with the four-star tight end as much as Alabama of late, influencing the decision to see those schools as well as Alabama.

"They are recruiting me hard," he added. "They contact me at least three times a week."

FOX Sports NEXT will continue to track McNeil's plans as they develop.
