Florida DL adds offer

Joe Jones is a talented defensive line prospect from Chaminade Madonna HS and Scout caught up with him to discuss the latest.

"I picked up an offer from Idaho," Joe Jones said. "I been in contact with South Carolina, Southern, Tulane, Western Kentucky, and Southern Miss lately."

Jones, 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds, also has an offer from North Alabama. He's hoping some others will come through after his latest tape gets out.

"My mid year highlight will be ready Friday," he said. " A lot of schools are waiting on it."

Jones, who finished last week's game against his old school with seven tackles and a sack, isn't ready to single out any favorites.

"I'm going to wait until my season ends and see who officially offers me. Then, I'll set it up from there."

The standout defensive line prospect talked about what he'll be looking for in a school.

"The type of scheme they run," he said. "I'm really falling in love playing the hybrid role at Chaminade but I can also put my hand down. Academics are a major part also. I want to get a college degree so I will also look to see who has a great sports medicine program. I also want to minor in education."

Jones has 30 tackles and eight sacks so far this season.
