Rumph's Ready for UGA

Georgia is set to host one of its top 2013 targets this weekend. Get the latest on Jonathon Rumph here.

Georgia has been recruiting Jonathon Rumph for over a year and they will finally get him on their campus this weekend for an official visit.

"I will be visiting Georgia this weekend and this will be my last official visit. I want to see what it is like there, spend some time around the coaches, and just see what it is like," said Jonathon Rumph.

The Dawgs are going up against Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas Tech for Rumph. He has visited those schools, so now it is UGA's turn.

They have made it clear to Rumph that he is a priority.

"I have been talking to Coach [Tony] Ball and Coach [Mark] Richt a lot and Georgia has been recruiting me very hard.

"They have been telling me how I can come in and be a big threat for them. They say I can be their deep threat, be their jump-ball guy, and things like that. They told me that I am built like A.J. Green and could be used the way he was when he was there."

This four-star wide receiver out of Hinds Community College is from South Carolina, so Athens is not far from his hometown.

Is that a positive or negative though?

Some feel Rumph does not want to be too close to home, but he has made it clear he wants to be at the schools that offers him the best opportunity.

"I only have two years to play, so I want to go into a good situation," he said. "I want to go into a good offense, go into a place where I have a chance to complete early, and just find the right place for me."

Will that be Athens, Starkville, Oxford, Lubbock, or Knoxville? We will find out soon.

"I plan to commit sometime after the Georgia visit. I do not think it will take me that long to make up my mind."
