Tally safety with offers

2013 safety Tony Fields has scholarship offers already. He's another secondary standout from Tallahassee North Florida Christian.

Tallahassee (Fla.) North Florida Christian junior running back prospect Johnathan Vickers gets much of the publicity from his school but NFC also has another outstanding recruit in the 2014 class in Tony Fields. He's a 5-foot-11 and 190-pound safety prospect with SEC offers already.

"He is a really good strong safety," said Robert Craft, NFC's coach. "His best attribute is that he's such a good tackler. Tony plays with great technique."

Travis Blanks for a super safety for Craft last season. In fact, Blanks signed with Clemson. Craft believes that Fields is on the same level.

"In many ways he's further along," Craft said. "Truthfully, he's more sound and plays with better technique. Last year there were coaches watching Field that thought he was Blanks. This is an aggressive kid who can cover and really tackles well in space."

Fields has scholarship offers from Ole Miss and Mississippi State while teams like Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina and Clemson are all showing interest and in hot pursuit.

"He didn't camp at many places this past summer because he had a little bit of a hamstring injury but he did go out and see some schools like Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn, Ole Miss and Clemson," Craft said. "I know South Carolina is showing a lot of interest. Auburn called about his yesterday and he visited the Tigers yesterday for their Georgia game.
