Loud Will Explore Options

FOX Sports NEXT is in the streets this fall to bring you all the coverage from across the Midlands region. Recently, we caught up with the coach of Wheatley defensive end Marcus Loud from Houston, Texas. Wheatley coach Cornelius McFarland gave us a recruiting update on his star defender…

With all of the turnover going on in today's college football landscape, players committed to the programs with the changes must make the tough choices.

For Houston (TX) Wheatley defensive end Marcus Loud, things are in a good position for the defender who is currently committed to Colorado.

"Right now, there are a few schools that have come by here to check in on him. Lucky for him, a lot of the schools that were recruiting him left the door open," Wheatley coach Cornelius McFarland. "Based on the latest talks I have had with him, Marcus will exercise his options to check out other schools, to see what is out there."

And it seems as though there are suitors waiting in the fold for Loud. According to McFarland, programs like Arizona, Wake Forest and Missouri are high on the 6-foot-4, 235-pound Loud. It was not long ago that Loud was previously committed to Missouri.

"Fortunately, that door (Missouri) never close. I guess you just never know what will happen," McFarland said. "I know that he (Loud) will take a few visits and he mentioned some of the schools."

McFarland said that Loud is primarily being recruited as defensive end, even though for Wheatley Loud was used as an outside linebacker and a tight end. He was used in many capacities, based on the package.
