Letman makes his choice

As one of the top JUCO safeties in the country heading into the season, Holmes S Taj Letman (6-3, 195) had plenty of schools offering and showing interest, but he decided earlier today to commit to Marshall and become a part of the Thundering Herd...

"The Marshall coach just left me and I committed to them about 10 minutes ago," an excited Letman told JCFootball.com. "I'm so excited and so as he. He said 'I need to go call my wife and tell her to good news'."

Let man chose Marshall over offers from the likes of Baylor, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana-Lafayette, Nebraska, Purdue, South Alabama and UNC Charlotte.

"I just weighed out all of the pluses and minuses and in the end, Marshall just won out of the other schools I was considering," Letman noted. "I visited them back in October when they played Central Florida and I just loved it.

"The atmosphere is great and they are losing their top two safeties, so I have a chance to go there and challenge for playing time right away.

"The staff is great too and I like the teams you play in Conference USA, so it's just a great opportunity for me.'

Letman plans to sign with Marshall on December 19th and he will have three years to play two when he steps on campus.
