Vanderbilt lands four-star OL

Vanderbilt loves to recruit in the state of Georgia and they landed a commitment from one of the top prospects in the Peach State Sunday evening.

"I have committed Vanderbilt," Delando Crooks told Scout Sunday night.

Vanderbilt has been in the lead for a while and Crooks felt the time was right on Sunday.

"Since the season has been over, I have had more time to think about which school was best for me and things like that.

"I have been thinking about committing a lot lately. I have put a lot thought into it, I have looked over everything, and I feel Vanderbilt is the right school for me."

He had over 20 schools pursuing him at one time and he has visited Purdue officially already.

The 6-foot-4, 277 pound offensive tackle out of Atlanta (Ga.) Carver feels Vandy has a lot to offer him.

"I have been on campus before and I realized when I first got there that it was a great school and that I could get a great education there.

"The main factors were education, how their football program is getting a lot better, and I just want to be a part of it there. I really like it there and I had to go ahead with my commitment."

He gave the news to a couple of Vanderbilt coaches and both loved what they heard.

"I called Coach Hand first, then I called Coach Franklin to tell them about my decision," said one of the top OLs in the Peach State. "They reacted in a similar way, both were excited about my commitment, so it was great."

He plans to take his official visit to Vanderbilt on the weekend of January 19.

Crooks is ranked the no. 29 offensive tackle in the country and a four-star prospect by Scout.
