UA Game: Top 5 Black Defense

Tuesday was the second day of practices at the UnderArmour All-American game at Disney's Wide World of Sports complex just outside of Orlando. Scout.com breaks down the top five performers on each side of the football.

1. Greg Gilmore, South View (NC), committed to LSU

Gilmore has been very impressive this week and despite having great size (6-3, 280) he could play inside or out due to his athleticism. We are pretty confident he will end up inside where he can do it all including getting after the QB. Gilmore has displayed a solid work ethic this week and is a very coachable player.

2. Robert Nkemdiche, DE, Grayson (GA)

Nkemdiche had many highlights on the day, but the one that stands out the most was when he put Roderick Johnson on his back (literally) on his way to the bag. Nkemdiche exploded off the line, got underneath Johnson and just drove him to the ground. He is the total package and a true impact player.

3. Ben Boulware, T.L. Hanna (SC), committed to Clemson

Boulware is really making a name for himself with the amount of energy that he plays with, this is a young man that loves to play the game and goee all out on every snap. Through two days he is the best inside linebacker in attendance because of his physicality and ability to find the football.

4. Vernon Hargreaves, CB, Wharton (FL), committed to Florida

Hargreaves has very little to prove at this event and things have been very quiet around him. Normally that silence is not a good thing, but for a corner it is excellent news as the quality reps have been many and the mistakes very few. Hargreaves is a pure corner with man skills and perhaps possesses the best technique in the country.

5. Elijah Daniel, DE, Avon (IN)

Daniel is on this list for the second day in a row because he is rock solid across the board. He has pass rushing skills, toughness in the trenches, and a body made for contact. With Chris Jones performance yesterday and Robert Nkemdiche in attendance it is hard to to grab headlines, but that is exactly what Daniel has done.

Brandon Huffman, Chad Simmons, Jason Higdon, John Garcia Jr., and Amy Campbell contributed to this report.
