One of the Chicago are representatives at the U.S. Army All-American combine in San Antonio was Glenwood High (Ill.) junior tight end Daniel Helm.
"It went alright, I didn't get as many reps as I would have liked," Helm said.
And as for Helm's junior season at Glenwood?
"Junior season went really well, I wish my team would have done better but I had a lot of yards and receptions," Helm said. "I want to play tight end in college. I play split out and slot as well as tight end in high school."
Helm spends time at several different positions on the field, and that helps define him on the gridiron.
I would describe myself as multi-dimensional because I play all three of those positions," Helm said. "So I can go up and get the ball and beat a db but also block for the running backs."
Helm has one offer, that he earned in camp from in-state Illinois.
"It's really close and I like them a lot," Helm said. "The coaches are nice guys and I know their engineering program is really good and that is what I am thinking about going into so that's good."
But it isn't just Illinois that Helm has heard from.
Although Helm hasn't planned any visits to junior days, he did take some summer visits. ?"I went to Illinois and Wisconsin and Georgia over the summer on unofficial visits," Helm said. "And I went to Michigan State for a game and Wisconsin, and Illinois for a game."
