NC State has stepped up the pursuit of Augusta (GA) Aquinas shooting guard Ahmed Hill, and the Wolfpack was able to get the talented junior on campus this weekend for an unofficial visit.

Hill was in Raleigh for the Pack's thrilling win over No. 1 Duke.

"It went great," he said. "I really liked the fan support and the facilities. The atmosphere was great. It was a nice place to be."

What was the best part of the trip for Hill?

"I liked being able to talk with the players before the game," he said. "They made me feel comfortable. I got to talk with Rodney Purvis and that is probably one of my favorite players so that made my day. It's the same with C.J. Leslie, just being able to talk with him about things was great."

NC State assistant Orlando Early is recruiting Hill for the Wolfpack.

"You know, coach Early, he's a cool dude," said Hill. "We joke all the time, and we stay in touch a lot. He's been recruiting me since the beginning of the school year, and we've built a great relationship."

Scout.com's No. 27 overall prospect in the 2014 class, Hill is having a huge junior season as he is averaging 33 points and 13 rebounds. NC State's pitch to him has been simple.

"The coaches said I could come in and be a dynamic scorer for them," said Hill. "They want me to help them out by shooting three's and going off the dribble to the basket."

Hill, who holds an offer from NC State, is a big-time target for several schools.

"I've got offers from Texas, UConn, NC State, Kansas, Tennessee, Georgia, Georgia Tech, VCU, Cincinnati, Villanova, Alabama, Indiana, Florida State, and Florida," said Hill. "Basically, I've got them from about everybody but Duke, Kentucky, and North Carolina. They are just recruiting me right now."

As of now, Hill says that he only has one visit tentatively scheduled.

"I'm going to be going back to NC State for their game with North Carolina [on January 27th]," he said. "I want to check them out again. This time I want to see more of the facilities and also check out the school.

"For now that's the only other visit that I have planned. I'm going to take some more though. I'm just trying to get to see everybody and talk to all the head coaches and get a feel for them."

Hill will suit up this summer for Southern Stampede on the AAU circuit. The plan is to have a final decision in November. What is he looking for in a school?

"I want to find a place where I'm at home," said Hill. "I'm looking for a great atmosphere, and a strong relationship with the coach. I want to be able to talk with him about anything."
