Helm Picks Up Second Offer

Michigan the latest offer for Chatham Glenwood (Ill.) class of 2014 tight end Daniel Helm.

Daniel Helm has had an Illinois offer since the summer, and while it took a full junior season for them to have company, they now have it as Michigan became the 6'4, 215-lb tight end's second offer.

"Well, I've only heard good things about Coach Hoke," he said. "I know they play in the biggest stadium in college football and it's a great school. My grandpa is a pretty big fan, so he tells me a lot about them. Besides that, that's about the extent of what I've heard so far. "

On a potential visit to Ann Arbor, Helm says, "I'm planning on spring if possible."

A talented pass catcher with good ball skills, Helm is likely to receive more offers before it's all said and done, but he will not forget that the Illini were first.

"It was very flattering and defintely nice to get that offer. I was really excited. The coaches are great guys. The school is a good school. The closeness is great, so I'm definitely going to consider what options I have later on committing and signing."

As for upcoming junior days and visits, Helm says, "I don't have anything for sure. I'm in basketball right now, so it's hard to plan something."
