Augusta Goes Black & Gold

Missouri Tigers pick up a much expected commitment from one of their top targets as Peoria (IL) Defensive Lineman Josh Augusta decides that he will be playing in the SEC next season.

Early Sunday evening, 2013 DT prospect Josh Augusta 6’5” 305 Peoria (IL) placed a phone call to the Missouri staff to notify them of his decision to become a Missouri Tiger. A few minutes later, he spoke with to share the news.

“I just called the Missouri coaches to let them know that I’m going to be a (Missouri) Tiger,” said Augusta. “I spoke to Coach Ford and Coach Pinkel. They were real excited!”

I asked Augusta what is was about Missouri that caused him to ultimately choose the Tigers?

“It’s the family atmosphere,” explained Augusta. “And, it’s close enough to home.”

Augusta said that he’s known for quite a while that he was going to be a Missouri Tiger. He said that his mother and the rest of his family are “real happy with his decision”.

“They love (Missouri),” said Augusta, who is going to retake the ACT next month.
