As a rising senior at Collins Hill High School (GA), offensive tackle Christian Harris has seen his recruitment gain momentum in just a week's time.

Harris took part the invite-only Junior Day at Alabama on January 26th and received his second collegiate offer on Wednesday from South Alabama.

During his trip to Tuscaloosa, Harris was able to tour the football facilities and speak with the Tide's coaching staff.

"It was really cool," Harris said of Junior Day. "We saw all of the facilities and met the strength and conditioning coaches. It was really important for me to see the weight room, too. They're building a new one now and turning the old one into a player's lounge and theater for film.

"We each met our position coaches as well," Harris continued. "Kirby Smart said he was very happy that I was there. He wants me to come to the camp this summer."

Although a trip to Alabama's camp is now on Harris's mind, he also admits surprise in the Tide's interest.

"I always thought that the 'best of the best' went to Alabama and they would never have a place for me," Harris explained, "but they emphasized to me that they look for good athletes to train and build as soon as they get there."

In the week following his Junior Day experience, Harris has received interest from Maryland and Florida State. He says that both schools have invited him to camp this summer.

On Wednesday morning, Harris received an official offer from South Alabama.

"It was really cool," Harris said of the offer. "My coach at Collins Hill pulled me out of the locker room to speak with South Alabama's coaches in his office."

Brett Sheehan, the quarterback at Collins Hill, committed to South Alabama on Monday. Sheehan was waiting inside of the coaches' office when Harris was called in.

"Brett was in there, and South Alabama's coach said, 'maybe in a couple of years, you could block for this guy,'" Harris explained. "It was the first time I've ever talked to South Alabama. They made the offer."

With another offer from Ohio University under his belt, Harris has not yet decided where he'll camp this summer.

"I would love to go to Duke and Georgia," Harris said. "I think those are two I could earn an offer from. If I have the chance, I'll also go to Alabama."
