He remained in the fold and never wavered on his decision, even after the coaching change.

Why NC State? "I've been up there a lot, and I love the atmosphere. I feel like home when I'm at NC State... there are some good people there."

Picked NC State Over: Interest from Duke

Scouting Report: This is a mammoth athlete with elite size and one who has come nowhere near growing into his frame yet. Long, lanky and wiry, McKever sees action as a dual-threat QB, wide receiver and safety.

This may sound strange, but with his frame he could possibly develop into a down lineman as a DE or as a jumbo- H-back. We would project him at this time to develop as a wide receiver or potential tight end. would have to start at OLB if he remains on defense as he is too tall and limited in pass coverage to remain at safety.

Potential big-play deep possession WR with his height and wingspan; great red zone target. He is such a mismatch one-on-one at this level that it is difficult for him to be challenged. Has big, soft hands and good ball skills to elevate and adjust to the ball. - ESPN
