Young, an outside linebacker at Albany High School, took time to enjoy everything Athens had to offer during his visit. The junior attended a gymnastics match after meeting with coaches, and said he thought coaches had a lot of confidence in his physical ability. The only concern for Young at this point is his grades.
"They (coaches) really like me," Young said. "We're just waiting on test scores now."
Young is considering Auburn, Clemson, Georgia and Georgia Tech at the moment. He said the visit to Georgia was a good one, but it didn't give the Bulldogs an advantage over the other schools on his list.
"I would say everyone is equal in recruiting so I'm not sure yet," Young said.
Ruffin, a cornerback at St. Pius X, is an athletic player who has the ability to play on both sides of the ball. Ruffin said that skill is one of the Georgia coaching staff's favorites.
"The coaches told me I was talented and they liked my ability to play on both sides of the ball," Ruffin said.
The visit to Athens gave Ruffin an idea of where Georgia currently stands in his mind, which at this point seems high. Ruffin has a visit to Auburn scheduled for next week. He said he will continue to weigh his options.
"The visit gave me a good idea of what Georgia has to offer," Ruffin said. "It didn't change my mind, but it gave me a gauge of where Georgia stands in it."
A third junior who visited Georgia on Saturday was Thomas, a running back at Oxford High School in Oxford, Ala. Thomas is one of the best running backs in the nation, but Georgia is not among his top schools.
Thomas' list of top schools consists of Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Florida and LSU. The list gets longer, and each school has given Thomas an offer.
Peachtree Ridge offensive tackle Orlando Brown was also scheduled to visit Georgia this weekend, but didn't make the trip for unspecified reasons. Brown has received an offer from Georgia, as well as many other SEC schools including Alabama, Florida, Auburn, South Carolina and Arkansas. Alabama is the only school where Brown has attended a camp.
Brown said he doesn't have any upcoming visits scheduled.
Georgia didn't get a commitment from any of those players on Saturday, but the recruits are far from making their decisions.
